Additional Residential Dwelling Unit Survey 2024

This is a comprehensive survey of registered additional residential dwelling units. An “additional residential dwelling unit” means an apartment that is self-contained and located within the same building or on the same lot of a primary residence. They are often referred to as “accessory apartments”, “basement apartments” or “in-law suites”.

Your feedback is important to help us understand if our current rules for additional residential dwelling units are working or need to change. Your feedback also helps us understand the role additional residential dwelling units are playing in Guelph's rental housing market.

Your participation is voluntary. The responses to the survey are confidential and will be used in the development of the Housing Affordability Strategy and are not being monitored for by-law compliance. Personal information, as defined by Section 2 of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (MFIPPA) is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act, 2001, and in accordance with the provisions of MFIPPA.
