Name That Place

When select new municipal buildings, parks and public spaces get approved the City of Guelph occasionally calls on the community to help us find a name for that place that can either:

  • Recognize the geographic, civic or historic significance of the area, or
  • Recognize a person who has demonstrated excellence, courage or exceptional service to our community, province, or Canada as a whole.

Our Municipal Property and Building Commemorative Naming Committee, made up of Guelph residents who have been appointed by council, will review the ideas brought forward from the community, score them based on the Commemorative Naming Policy and recommend a name for our Council to consider and approve.

Help us name a future park at 106 Beaumont Crescent.

Until February 17, we're accepting your ideas to name a park that will be coming to the York Road and Elizabeth Street area.

In the future we will come to the community to help us design the park, but for now, this park block needs a name. First consideration by the Naming Committee will be given to names that have geographic, civic or historic significance of the neighbourhood or community where the park will be located.

Do you have an idea? We want to hear it!
