The wonder of water and green space

For the last 38 years I have lived at the end of Water Street. Over those years, I have had 4 Golden Retrievers. I have used the trails and parklands along and around the rivers for dog walking and river watching. The heron fishes in the river and flies elegantly down its length. My dog rolls happily in the grass or swims in the river. During the pandemic, I loved to watch the children and parents playing in the river - something I had never seen in previous years. There were so many more people using the river trails and just having fun. When I took people/families/ dog walkers for tours around the magnificent Reformatory lands, their eyes lit up with joy and wonder at the beauty of the place. It would be a splendid park for our city.
