Playground Replacements 2024

Help us design three playgrounds we’re replacing by summer 2025

Before we set out to design the new playgrounds we want to hear from you! What do you like about the existing playgrounds, what features would you like to see in the new designs, and what is important to have in your neighbourhood!

Between February 6 and March 3, please take some time to complete a survey (or three!) and share your thoughts on one or more of these playgrounds:

For those interested, Drew Park will have a revitalization project of its own this year (including a new playground)—stay tuned because we’ll be sharing more details in the near future!

Need inspiration? Check out "Imagining your next playground" for ideas and conversation starters.

We want you to tell us:

  • What kind of equipment you would like to see
  • What you like about the existing playground
  • If there are any specific accessible and inclusive features you would like to see included

What's next?

Once we’ve collected and analyzed all of the information received from engagement, we'll use the information to develop requirements for the design of new play equipment. We then send this information to specialized playground designers as part of our process for selecting new play equipment. We will review the design submissions and select the best two designs for each park to share with you for your opinions on the best design and how we can improve it even further.

Round two community engagement, with 2 designs for new play equipment for each park, will be shared in the spring of 2024.

Final designs and plans for construction will be shared in the fall of 2024, with construction starting as early as the spring of 2025 pending final budget approval.
