The importance of the OR site

The first time I saw this beautiful property I was watching my niece run in OFSAA 5 km race. That must have been in the early to mid 2000s. I remember it clearly because I had never been there before although had lived in Guelph for several years by that time. I noticed how unique and special the place was. After that I occasionally went there with my children to walk the trails and enjoy the view of the ponds. More recently as my children have now grown and I have had a chance to travel abroad to France I go there much more often. The reason I mention France is that when I see the stone walls it reminds me very much of the South central countryside of France where you see many stone walls.

I have never seen stone walls like these in Canada. They are an important feature that at the very least should be preserved and maintained. The buildings are also the only type of this kind that is still standing in this area.
This site has so many significant historical feature but also is so important for local wildlife and birds Please let’s preserve it.
